More body snatching – Montreal Daily Witness Jan 20, 1875
Monday night the dead house in the cemetery at Chambly Basin was broken open, and the body of a man stolen. Great excitement prevailed in the town on the news being made known, and the authorities in Montreal were at once communicated with. Detective Cinq Mars is working up the case and a party of medical students are suspected. They are, however, not the same who committed the outrage at St. Constant. In the present case the stolen corpse is that of a man who died of typhus fever, so that the robbers have exposed themselves to considerable danger apart from what the law may threaten.
