Gruesome discovery on Mount Royal
Horrible – The Montreal Gazette Feb. 28, 1828
We have been told that on Saturday last the body of a male child, supposed to be about two months old, was found on the mountain above this city. The corpse was in an advanced stage of putrefaction. A Coroner’s inquest was held on the body; but nothing transpired at it, but could lead to a discovery of the inhuman monster who left it in that situation. It is supposed that the infant was buried under the snow in the early part of the winter, and had remained there until the recent thaws dissolved the snow which covered it.
