A taste of Texas cattle

Texas Cattle – The Montreal Daily Witness Oct. 19, 1874

There arrived at Point St. Charles Saturday afternoon two stock trains from the West, comprising thirty car loads of cattle and seven car loads of hogs. Thirteen of these cattle cars were loaded with Texas cattle, 220 in all. These long-horned wild cattle do not seem to be much tamed by their long journey, and their active movements gave great amusement to the men who were employed unloading them from the cars into the yards.
