A (bad) actor gets busted
An Actor – The Montreal Gazette Jun. 17, 1878
A man named Joseph Martel (?) was arrested on Saturday evening, charged with personating the official guardians of the peace. He was not a good actor; his style of playing “first policeman” was objected to by No. 2 and No. 3, the genuine policemen, who marched him to the police station. On his person was found a dangerous weapon, and he will doubtless find the Blake Act a factor in regulating his future acts.
